BTS’ Jin surprises fans with a memorable performance at Coldplay’s concert.
On April 19, BTS’ Jin made a surprise appearance at Coldplay’s concert in Goyang, South Korea, stunning nearly 50,000 fans at the Goyang Sports Complex. Notably, this marked the third night of Coldplay’s ‘MUSIC of the SPHERES’ tour in Korea.
During the ‘Songbook’ segment, where audience members are invited to request songs, Jin pretended to be a regular fan, holding a placard that read, “Can I sing, pick me up?” Chris Martin spotted him in the crowd and welcomed him on stage.
Together, they delivered a heartfelt performance of ‘The Astronaut’, Jin’s solo debut single co-written with Coldplay, with Martin playing the keyboard as Jin sang. The duo then followed up with ‘My Universe’, the BTS x Coldplay collaboration from 2021.
This marked Jin’s second appearance as a guest at a Coldplay concert. He first joined them on October 28, 2022, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, for the ‘MUSIC of the SPHERES World Tour’, where he debuted ‘The Astronaut’ live just before his military enlistment.
Reflecting on the emotional full circle, Jin stated, “My last concert before the military was with Coldplay, and my first after discharge is also with Coldplay.”
Jin’s return to the stage has reignited excitement among fans. He is also gearing up for the release of his second solo album, ‘Echo’, on May 16, and will kick off his solo tour from June 28 to 29 at the Goyang Auxiliary Stadium.
