‘Memphis’ is inspired by the true story of Dewey Phillips, a white DJ in 1950s America who introduced Black music to mainstream white audiences. Huey, a passionate DJ, discovers Black rock and roll in an underground club and strives to share it, challenging racial norms and falling for Felicia, a talented Black singer.
Joining Lee Chang-sub on stage is a stellar cast, including VIXX’s Leo, musical theatre powerhouse Jeong Sun Ah, Yuria, and acclaimed actor Park Kang-hyun, among others, promising a show filled with talent and energy.
Lee Chang-sub has been steadily building his reputation in the musical theatre scene with performances in productions like ‘The Last Empress’, ‘Marie Antoinette’, and the recent ‘Winter Traveler’. His performances have been praised for his vocal range and emotional depth, winning over both critics and audiences.
Besides his musical activities, Lee Chang-sub recently concluded his solo tour ‘The Wayfarer’ in Bangkok and is preparing for a fan meeting event titled ‘With You, Always’, set to take place in Kobe and Tokyo on April 27 and 29.
With Memphis returning to the stage, fans eagerly anticipate the passion and soul Lee Chang-sub will once again bring to the role of Huey.
The musical is set to open on June 17, 2025.
