BOYNEXTDOOR has been appointed the global ambassador for the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship, becoming the first K-pop group to represent an FIVB-organized tournament.
The announcement was made on April 26 during the FIVB delegation’s visit to HYBE’s headquarters in Seoul. As ambassadors, the six members—Sungho, Riwoo, Jaehyun, Taesan, Leehan, and Woonhak—will lead promotional activities and perform at the opening ceremony’s finale.
This year’s championship kicks off on September 12 in Manila, Philippines, with added excitement as South Korea’s men’s national team returns to the finals for the first time in 11 years.
BOYNEXTDOOR expressed their excitement, stating, “We are excited but also feel a great sense of responsibility to be a global ambassador in this meaningful year when the Korean national team will be participating. We will do our best so that many people can experience the excitement and charm of volleyball. We will cheer for the success of this competition together with all the fans who love volleyball.”
The FIVB praised the group’s influence and enthusiasm, stating, “As a global ambassador for the 2025 World Men’s Volleyball Championship, BOYNEXTDOOR will play a pivotal role in promoting sportsmanship, unity, and competitiveness. BOYNEXTDOOR’s global influence will be a great help in achieving the goals of the competition, which are to generate greater interest in volleyball, promote cultural exchange, and unite countries around the world through volleyball.”
As anticipation builds for the championship, BOYNEXTDOOR’s participation promises to draw fresh attention to volleyball and infuse the event with the energy and global reach of K-pop.
