BoA has cancelled her solo concert due to health concerns.
On July 15, SM Entertainment announced the cancellation of BoA’s 5th solo concert, which was scheduled for August 30 and 31, due to her upcoming knee surgery.
The agency shared:
Hello, this is SM Entertainment. We regret to inform you that BoA’s fifth solo concert will not proceed due to the artist’s health-related issues.
BoA was recently diagnosed with acute osteonecrosis, which requires surgical treatment, after visiting a hospital for worsening knee pain. Following medical advice—to avoid strenuous physical activity, including performances such as dancing, to prevent the progression of the condition and to undergo surgery as soon as possible—she decided to move forward with the procedure.
As a result, BoA’s fifth solo concert, scheduled for August 30 and 31, has been unavoidably canceled. We deeply apologize for any concern this sudden news may have caused our fans. This decision was made with the artist’s health as our top priority, and we kindly ask for your generous understanding.
In addition, as this year marks the meaningful occasion of BoA’s 25th anniversary since her debut, we plan to release her completed album as scheduled, with no changes to the timeline. Any updates regarding the possibility of a future concert will be shared based on the artist’s recovery following surgery.
We will do our utmost to prioritize the artist’s health and safety and to ensure that BoA can focus entirely on her treatment and recovery.
Thank you.
BoA previously celebrated her Japan debut anniversary in May with the self-written single ‘Young & Free’.
Wishing BoA a speedy recovery!
