BLACKPINK’s Rosé continues to make global history with her hit single, ‘APT.’
On February 19, the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) announced that Rosé’s collaboration with Bruno Mars, ‘APT.’, is IFPI’s Official Biggest-Selling Global Single of the Year 2025. This marks the first time the IFPI Global Singles Chart has been topped by a K-pop artist, an artist outside North America or Europe, and a track featuring non-English lyrics.

HUNTR/X’s ‘Golden’ claimed the No. 2 position, representing one of two singles from ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ and proving a notable success for a mid-year release.
Victoria Oakley, CEO, IFPI, said,“Rosé and Bruno Mars topping the IFPI Global Single Chart with APT. is a landmark moment, not least as it’s the first time a winning single has featured non-English lyrics. This year’s results also underline the global reach of today’s music market, with songs connecting across languages and borders.”
Notably, ‘APT.’ became a global hit, peaking at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and charting for 45 weeks, the longest run for a female K-pop soloist. It won Song of the Year at the MTV Video Music Awards, earned historic nominations for Song and Record of the Year at the GRAMMY Awards, and led to Rosé’s nomination for International Song of the Year at the BRIT Awards, making her the first K-pop artist nominated both in a group and solo.
Her first full-length album ‘rosie’ (Dec 2024) entered at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and stayed for 27 weeks, the longest run for a female K-pop artist.
Congratulations to Rosé on this incredible milestone!
