BIG OCEAN has announced the details of their first European tour, ‘Underwater.’ The title symbolizes the group’s desire to awaken their instincts and hidden potential beneath the surface, unveiling a new artistic side of BIG OCEAN. The tour will kick off in Lausanne, Switzerland, on April 19 and 20, followed by Milan, Italy, on April 23, London, UK, on April 24, Paris, France, on April 26, and finally, Montpellier, France, on April 27.

BIG OCEAN made history as the first K-pop group composed entirely of hearing-impaired members when they debuted in April 2024, coinciding with Korea’s Day of Persons with Disabilities. The trio Lee Chan Yeon, Park Hyun Jin, and Kim Ji Seok have gained international attention not only for their musical talents but also for their mission to break down misunderstandings and prejudices toward disabled people, promoting inclusivity within the K-pop industry.
Their performances are unique, incorporating sign language-inspired choreography, and the members communicate through a combination of lip reading, hearing aids, and cochlear implants.
BIG OCEAN also collaborated with the World Health Organization (WHO) to produce videos promoting public understanding of hearing impairments. They were honored with the “Special Hallyu Award” at the 6th Newsis Korean Wave Expo on August 22, 2024, as an icon of hope. Additionally, BIG OCEAN was featured as Billboard’s “K-pop Rookie of the Month” for September 2024.
