On October 5, 2021, Golden Child released their repackaged album ‘DDARA’ with the title track of the same name and a b-side track ‘Oasis.’
After the success of their previous album ‘Game Changer’, the group came up with a distinct concept in their repackaged album. According to member Y, “‘DDARA’ is of the new jack swing style so it’s funky but also gives off a luxurious feel.” This music genre can be identified as a mix of light hip hop and funk production with contemporary & vocals and melodies.
The music video of the ‘DDARA’ shows the members in suits with black and white shots. The choreography is fast and smashing with the chorus being the highlight. Donghyun emphasized, “There are two spots that were the most difficult. For starters, emphasizing the feeling of the dance break choreography was the hardest. That’s why it’s the part the members practised most. In the chorus, there’s a dance where we kick our right foot and because that’s the point choreography, we practised it a lot.”
Along with ‘DDARA’, the b-side track ‘Oasis’ was also released which has been written and composed by member TAG. It’s a soft track focusing on vocals and has a kind of comforting beats. Of the two new songs, ‘Oasis’ gives exquisite and elegant vibes. TAG added, ‘‘’Oasis’ shares the message that if the music industry was a desert, we are members who would walk that arduous desert journey through our own oasis, or through a shelter-like road. I wanted to express my gratitude to my members who are my safe haven. I also wanted to capture the message that while it’s important to do everything diligently, you don’t have to rush and should take a rest sometimes. I will return with even better songs in the future.”
The boys definitely made Goldenness (their fandom name), proud by adding 2 singles to their album ‘Game Changer.’ Both the songs have a different vibe with ‘DDARA’ combining the retro feels with energetic
choreography and ‘Oasis’ giving off mellow and soft vibes.
The comeback was definitely a hit!
