Actor Kim Jae Yeong is all set to take on a villain role.
On January 12, JTBC reported that Kim Jae Yeong will portray the new villain in the upcoming movie ‘The Roundup 5,’ the fifth installment of Ma Dong-seok’s hit action franchise. The movie is currently in pre-production stage and is preparing to begin filming later this year.
Responding to the news, the actor’s agency, MANAGEMENT S, stated, “Kim Jae-yeong will be joining The Roundup 5 as a villain.” He will step into the role of the franchise’s fifth main villain, following notable antagonists portrayed by Yoon Kye Sang, Son Suk Ku, Lee Jun Hyuk, and Kim Mu Yeol.
Since the release of the first film in October 2017, the series has continued to dominate the box office. The franchise has made Korean film history by becoming the first to record three installments, each attracting over 10 million moviegoers, achieving a cumulative audience of 40 million. This success has generated strong excitement among fans for the fifth installment.
Kim Jae Yeong is currently starring in ENA’s ‘IDOL I’ as the idol Do Ra Ik, opposite Choi Soo Young.
