K-Drama Recommendation of the Week – ‘Our Sticky Love’: Bound by Lies, Caught in Love

“My heart belongs to someone else, but my life belongs to you.” — Jang Tae-ha

Welcome to ‘Our Sticky Love,’ the 2026 Netflix romantic-comedy thriller that explores a captivating premise: What happens when an amnesiac prosecutor wakes up to find a brooding former boxer claiming to be her boyfriend to keep her safe? The series stars Jung Hae-in and Ha Young in a high-stakes, heartwarming story of hidden pasts and small-town secrets.

Starring: Jung Hae-in, Ha Young, Heo Seong-Tae

Episodes: 12

Director: Kim Jang-han

Writer: Mo Ji-hye

Network / Where to Watch: Netflix

The Plot

Go Eun-sae / Go Ji-won (Ha Young) is an ambitious anti-corruption prosecutor who gets caught in an unexpected accident while pursuing a dangerous crime syndicate. When she wakes up in an unfamiliar rural clinic, she has completely lost her memory, forgetting her name, her job, and her past.

Into her life steps Jang Tae-ha (Jung Hae-in), a former youth boxing champion turned small-town coach with ties to a gang. Recognizing Eun-sae as his long-lost first love, Tae-ha makes a dangerous gamble: to protect her from the syndicate hunting her down, he claims to be her devoted boyfriend, pulling her into a chaotic forced cohabitation in the countryside.

As Eun-sae tries to piece together who she really is, she finds herself navigating a quiet village full of meddling grandmothers, simmering tensions, and a protector whose gentle eyes hide layers of dangerous secrets.

The Characters

Jang Tae-ha (Played by Jung Hae-in)

A former youth boxing champion and reformed gang member, Jang Tae-ha now runs a local gym in a quiet town. Beneath his stoic demeanour, formidable physique, and icy gaze lies a strong sense of loyalty. Having secretly harboured feelings for Eun-sae since their past, he pretends to be her boyfriend to protect her from professional and criminal threats. However, maintaining this facade while struggling with his true feelings pushes him to confront his emotional limits.

Go Eun-sae / Go Ji-won (Played by Ha Young)

A brilliant, high-flying prosecutor whose life is upended by sudden memory loss. Thrust into an unfamiliar rural environment with a man she cannot place, she must balance her sharp legal instincts and innate sense of justice with the confusing, tender reality of a fake relationship that rapidly begins to feel dangerously real. As fragments of her past return, she discovers that her identity is far more complex than she imagined.

Baek Sang-gil (Played by Heo Sung-tae)

Baek Sang-gil is a powerful crime syndicate boss who serves as a central figure in the show’s primary conflict. He is a ruthless criminal leader who orders the assassination of prosecutor Go Eun-sae after she records damning evidence of his organization’s crimes. To carry out this task, he dispatches one of his best men, Jang Tae-ha. His menacing authority and criminal connections drive the high-stakes suspense that threatens the lives and futures of the main characters.

Why This Drama Is Your Next Binge-Watch

  • A High-Stakes Fake Relationship: The premise masterfully blends the cosy healing atmosphere of the countryside with the constant underlying suspense of a crime thriller, creating a thrilling push-and-pull dynamic.
  • Jung Hae-in’s Nuanced Lead Performance: Known for his romantic roles, Jung delivers a raw, gritty transformation as a protector with a troubled past, showcasing his emotional range.
  • Ha Young’s Captivating Lead Turn: She anchors the series with fierce intelligence and vulnerable charm, making Eun-sae’s quest to reclaim her memory deeply compelling.
  • A Fresh Take on Rom-Com and Mystery: Blending small-town warmth reminiscent of ‘Welcome to Samdal-ri’ with dangerous syndicate undertones, the drama offers a refreshing genre hybrid that keeps viewers guessing.

The Theme of ‘Sticky’ Redemption and Healing

The title ‘Our Sticky Love’ isn’t just a playful metaphor; it reflects how past traumas, old loyalties, and lingering secrets cling to the characters.

Both Tae-ha and Eun-sae carry heavy burdens from their pasts, and their journey is about learning that healing doesn’t mean scraping away painful memories, but allowing them to bind you closer to someone who understands your scars.

The Final Verdict

‘Our Sticky Love’ stands out as an absolute treat for fans of unpredictable romance, clever psychological suspense, and rich village dynamics. Unlike standard workplace rom-coms, this series invests heavily in character development and atmospheric tension.

Jung Hae-in and Ha Young deliver explosive yet grounded chemistry, ensuring that every plot twist feels earned rather than forced. Sweet, thrilling, and deeply human, it is a standout 2026 release that proves love is most resilient when forged through fire.
