Chinese R&B singer-songwriter Aaron Young has released his latest single, ‘ib4u,’ a feel-good pop track featuring Ray Storme that celebrates the excitement and butterflies of falling for someone new.
Originally written during Aaron’s college years in San Francisco, “ib4u” has been brought to life more than a decade later, with Ray Storme—who co-wrote the track—joining the official release as a featured artist. At its core, ‘ib4u’ captures the emotions of early romance, from constantly thinking about someone and anticipating a first date to falling a little deeper with every conversation. With its melodies and heartfelt lyrics, the song reflects the joy of wanting to make someone smile and simply be there for them.
Adding to its distinctive sound, the track opens with the pipa, a traditional Chinese string instrument, blending Eastern musical influences with contemporary pop production. The combination reflects Aaron’s cross-cultural musical identity while giving the song a fresh and modern feel.
The release also embraces a nostalgic visual concept. Inspired by iconic 1990s cartoons such as Beavis and Butt-Head, the single artwork pairs retro aesthetics with the song’s warm, carefree energy, complementing its lighthearted theme. Speaking through the music, Aaron transforms a song written years ago into a celebration of friendship, creativity, and the universal experience of discovering someone who quickly becomes impossible to stop thinking about.
Based in Seoul, Aaron Young is a Chinese R&B singer-songwriter and former K-pop idol who first rose to prominence as a member of the Chinese-Korean boy group TimeZ. Since launching his solo career, he has established himself as one of the emerging voices in the Asian R&B scene, earning recognition for his distinctive sound and cross-cultural musical influences.
Aaron has since garnered significant attention online through a string of viral releases, including his R&B reimagining of a K-pop hit—later performed by the Korean military dance team—and the fan-favorite ‘Ma Jia Xian Oppa.’ Collectively, the tracks have inspired more than 100,000 user-generated videos, accumulated millions of views across digital platforms, and helped propel his latest EP to become one of the fastest-streamed independent releases of 2025.
