izna is back with a brand new EP!
On June 8 at 6 PM KST (2:30 PM IST), izna made their much-awaited comeback with their third mini album, ‘SET THE TEMPO’. The album showcases their declaration to set their own standards rather than following those set by the rest of the world, reflecting their confidence while staying true to themselves.
‘SET THE TEMPO’ consists of a total of five tracks, with ‘METRONOME’ serving as the title track, produced by acclaimed producer TEDDY alongside KUSH, VVN, and IDO. The song is described as: “Like a metronome that keeps a steady beat, the music and lyrics express the determination to create and follow one’s own rhythm without wavering, even in a complex and chaotic world.”
The music video captures the song’s dreamy aesthetic with catchy choreography, making the MV visually appealing and enhancing the overall mood of the song, bringing the track to life.
The B-side tracks on the album include ‘R.I.P.’, a pop-rock song that boldly declares a break from the past and a confident leap toward something new. ‘INFINITY’ is a heartwarming fan song expressing the group’s love and thankfulness toward their fans, with members RYU SA RANG and BANG JEE MIN credited as writers, making the song more personal and meaningful.
‘ROCK, PAPER, SCISSORS’ is a hip-hop/R&B track inspired by the classic game, playfully exploring the psychological dynamics of relationships. Closing the album with ‘LEAN ON ME,’ a synth-pop track that carries a message of reassurance, promising to be a warm place of comfort during moments of loneliness and uncertainty.
All five tracks, with smooth transitions, highlight the group’s growth and evolving musical artistry, describing the album’s core message. The members shared, “Just like the title of this album, we want to keep moving forward with confidence at our own steady tempo. We’ll show that izna is truly one-of-a-kind, and the group that can make any concept our own.”
‘SET THE TEMPO’ marks the group’s comeback after eight months since the release of their second EP, ‘Not Just Pretty’, beginning a new chapter of boldly showcasing and forming their own standards on their own terms and setting their own pace.
