LE SSERAFIM says “Namaste” to a bold new era!
On May 22 KST, LE SSERAFIM officially released their second full-length album, ‘PUREFLOW’, Pt. 1, along with the music video for the title track, ‘BOOMPALA’. The album marks a new chapter in the group’s evolving narrative, reflecting growth, vulnerability and strength.
Inspired by the Heart Sūtra in Mahāyāna Buddhism, ‘BOOMPALA’ blends Latin house sounds with playful energy while sampling Los Del Río’s iconic 1993 hit ‘Macarena’. Through its addictive hook and chant-like lyrics, the track delivers a message about overcoming fear and embracing freedom.
Notably, the track includes the lyric, “Namaste namaste, I’ma stay up,” adding another symbolic element to the song’s eclectic and globally inspired concept.
Speaking about the track, Huh Yunjin shared, “I think we live in a world where many people cannot help but feel lonely. We also feel loneliness and solitude at times. But whenever I realize that the members are feeling the same way, it comforts me, and that becomes a driving force for us to move forward and one reason we can keep growing.”
‘PUREFLOW’, Pt. 1 features a total of 11 tracks, including the title track ‘BOOMPALA’, pre-release single ‘CELEBRATION’, ‘Pureflow’, ‘iffy iffy’, ‘Need Your Company’, ‘Creatures’, ‘Sonder’, ‘Saki (feat. Aliyah’s Interlude)’, ‘Irony’, ‘Trust Exercise’ and ‘Liminal Space’. The members also participated in the lyric-writing and production process.
Ahead of the release, LE SSERAFIM held a special Spotify live event, ‘PURE FLOWERS LIVE,’ where the group premiered performances from the album and met fans ahead of their official comeback.
With ‘BOOMPALA’, LE SSERAFIM continues to expand its musical identity by embracing a more fearless and liberated sound.
