PENTAGON’s KINO releases MV ahead of album launch!
KINO dropped the MV for ‘CLUB SEX CIGARETTES’ along with a fashion photo shoot with DAZED KOREA, ahead of his EP release, ‘EVERYBODY’S GUILTY, BUT NO ONE’S TO BLAME’.
‘CLUB SEX CIGARETTES’ is an electronic rock tune that conveys the message of freedom, one that the public could all relate to, especially those who have worked at a corporate workplace. The lyrics seem to suggest that KINO poses the question, “why is it wrong to stop pleasing authorities and be true to yourself.”
In the MV, KINO cleverly visualizes actions that most corporate employees have likely imagined in their office life, like skipping office, spitting at your boss or writing a resignation letter, etc.
The release of the MV has sparked some debate among netizens, with many questioning whether such content is appropriate for a K-pop artist. KINO responded, “I believe, if we are in extreme stress, we tend to follow our basic instincts. The three little words are the way of me provoking the snobs in our society by saying the words that are considered taboos.”
