Lee Jae Wook and Shin Ye Eun confirmed to star in an upcoming romcom drama!
On September 18, ENA, a broadcasting and media production company, announced that actor Lee Jae Wook and actress Shin Ye Eun have been confirmed as the main leads in the upcoming romantic comedy drama ‘The Persevering Doctor’(working title).

Based on the webtoon of the same name, ‘The Persevering Doctor’ follows doctor Do Ji Eui (Lee Jae Wook), a former plastic surgeon at a university hospital, and nurse Yook Ha Ri (Shin Ye Eun), who carries a mysterious past.
Ji Eui, who suffers from trauma related to islands and oceans, faces a life-changing moment when he is assigned to the infamous island of Pyeondong. Meanwhile, Ha Ri, transferred from a university hospital to the island’s health center, brushes off gossip and is determined to dedicate herself to helping someone she has just met.
Talking about his role, Lee Jae Wook remarked, “This is my first time playing a doctor, so I am as worried as I am excited, but I will do my best. It will be a new challenge and a valuable experience.”
Shin Ye Eun also shared, “During the script reading, I became convinced that it is really a fun drama. I want to create it with confidence.”
‘The Persevering Doctor’ is slated to premiere in 2026.
