IVE has returned with their 4th EP, ‘IVE SECRET’!
On August 25 at 6 P.M. KST (2:30 P.M. IST), Starship Entertainment‘s girl group IVE made their long-anticipated comeback with the release of their fourth EP, ‘IVE SECRET.’ This marks their comeback after almost six months, with their third EP, ‘IVE EMPATHY,’ releasing in February this year.
They also dropped a music video for the album’s title track, ‘XOXZ,’ which showcases a blend of futuristic, cyberpunk and self reflective visual themes. ‘XOXZ’ is a neologism coined by IVE, blending the widely known expression ‘XOXO’ (representing hugs and kisses) with the letter ‘Z’ to symbolize sleep. This clever wordplay conveys a heartfelt message: “I love you, good night, and see you in my dreams.”
The album delves into various themes, emphasizing the emotions hidden behind glamorous appearances. The songs also embody sentiments of self expression and self love, sending an impactful message to the listeners, especially the female listeners.
Featuring a total of 6 tracks, ‘XOXZ,’ ‘Wild Bird,’ ‘Dear, My Feelings,’ ‘GOTCHA (Baddest Eros),’ ‘삐빅 (♡Beats),’ and ‘Midnight Kiss’, the album also sees group members Jang Won Young and LIZ contributing as co-lyricists for ‘XOXZ’ and ‘Midnight Kiss,’ respectively.
The song was first hinted at during the ‘2025 Gayo Daejeon Summer’ event, and the anticipation from excited fans has finally been fulfilled with the release of the album, leaving them thrilled.
