Shim Jaehyun, a former member of the K-pop group F.ABLE, passed away at the age of 23.
The news of his passing first surfaced through acquaintances on June 29 and was later confirmed online by fans and former colleagues. Jaehyun had been battling leukemia and was undergoing treatment. However, his illness had not been made public prior to his passing, as he had chosen to undergo treatment privately.
On July 1, Jaehyun’s former teammate Hojun confirmed the news through a heartfelt Instagram story. He wrote, “I’m so sorry I couldn’t be there for your last journey. I sometimes think about how I could have done better, and it’s regretful. I just hope you can shake off all your worries and live comfortably there. Thank you for the past 5 years. I hope you’re eating lots of delicious food and doing well there. Come visit me in my dreams.”
Jaehyun was a member of F.ABLE, a K-pop group under Haeirum Entertainment. The group debuted in 2020 but went on hiatus in 2023 before quietly disbanding.
Our heartfelt condolences to Shim Jaehyun’s family and friends. May his soul rest in peace.
