Popular Korean actress Jun Ji Hyun is parting ways with IEUM HASHTAG, her agency of three years.
On June 24, a representative of IEUM HASHTAG shared, “Our exclusive contract with Jun Ji Hyun has ended, and we have decided not to renew the contract.” The actress signed with the agency in 2022, and after three years, she has decided to move on to a new chapter in her career.
According to reports by Korean media, Jun Ji Hyun is reportedly looking to establish her own agency. A source cited by a Korean media outlet shared, “There are many talks about her establishing a one-person agency with like-minded people rather than transferring to another company. However, there could be several variables involved.”
Jun Ji Hyun made her acting debut in the 1999 movie ‘White Valentine’. The 2001 hit ‘My Sassy Girl’ marked her breakthrough, paving the way for a highly acclaimed career in both film and television. Some of her most popular dramas include ‘My Love from the Star’, ‘The Legend of the Blue Sea’, ‘Kingdom’, and ‘Jirisan’.
Currently, Jun Ji Hyun is set to return to the small screen after nearly four years with the upcoming Disney+ series ‘Tempest’, starring alongside Kang Dong Won. The drama follows Moon Ju, a renowned diplomat and former UN ambassador, who teams up with San Ho, a mysterious special agent, to uncover the truth behind a major incident that threatens the future of the Korean Peninsula.
Wishing Jun Ji Hyun all the best in her future endeavors!
