On June 23, JTBC and Lee Dong Wook shared a new poster for the upcoming drama ‘The Nice Guy’ on their official social media accounts. The poster features the actor seated in an empty subway car, with a caption that reads, “It’s okay if my life gets a little ruined.” The caption sparks curiosity about his tumultuous life and the journey that has led him to this point.
The noir drama centers around Dong Wook’s character Park Seok Chul, and his first love, Kang Mi Young, played by Lee Sung Kyung. Seok Chul is the pure-hearted eldest grandson of the three-generation gangster family, torn between his dream of becoming a novelist and his real life in the world of crime. Kang Mi Young is his love interest who aspires to become a singer.
A few days ago, JTBC also released a series of character teasers featuring Lee Dong Wook on their official social media accounts. The three distinct teasers offer a glimpse into the layered narrative of the drama. The ‘noir’ version highlights Park Seok Chul’s darker and violent reality, while the ‘literary’ teaser showcases his quieter and introspective side. The final teaser blends both noir and literary elements, hinting at the inner conflict of Seok Chul between pursuing his dream and facing his reality.
