On May 10, TVING confirmed the long-awaited return of ‘Yumi’s Cells’ with its third season, bringing back not just its heartfelt storytelling but also the familiar face fans have come to love: Kim Go Eun. Reprising her role as the thoughtful and ever-evolving Yumi, the actress is set to lead the next chapter of the series with a deeper, more mature presence.

Adapted from the beloved hit webtoon of the same name, ‘Yumi’s Cells’ has charmed audiences with its clever storytelling and heartfelt emotion, blending live-action with animation to depict the inner workings of Yumi’s mind through a chorus of expressive brain cells. After winning hearts in Seasons 1 and 2, Kim Go Eun’s return marks a new beginning for both her character and the fans who’ve followed her journey since 2021.
Season 3 reunites the original creative dream team—director Lee Sang Yeob and writers Song Jae Jung and Kim Kyung Ran—whose imaginative approach brought Yumi’s world to life. I’m honored and grateful to continue Yumi’s story, which has been loved by so many viewers. As an actor, playing the same character over a long period is both meaningful and special. I want to capture the various turning points in Yumi’s life as she has grown over the years through Season 3. Since this journey began in 2021, I hope to finish it well.
