GOT7’s Jinyoung may be making a drama comeback in a new romance drama!
On April 29, media reports stated that Park Jinyoung has been finalized to play the lead in JTBC’s upcoming drama ‘Shining’ (literal title). Addressing the reports, Jinyoung’s agency, BH Entertainment, stated, “It is a project he received an offer for and is positively reviewing.”
‘Shining’ follows Yeon Tae Oh, a train conductor whose life takes a dramatic turn at the age of 19 when he loses his parents in a tragic accident. The story revolves around Tae Oh and Mo Eun Ah, whose deep connection becomes the center of their world. Tae Oh parts ways with Eun Ah in his twenties but reconnects with her at 30. The drama is expected to portray themes of second chances, healing, and an unwavering bond.
The upcoming drama is set to be directed by Producing Director Kim Yoon Jin, known for her work on ‘Our Beloved Summer’ and ‘Tell Me That You Love Me’. The script is penned by Lee Sook Yeon, celebrated for her thoughtful storytelling in ‘On the Way to the Airport’ and ‘A Piece of Your Mind’.
Previously, actress Kim Min Ju was confirmed to play the female lead.
Actors Chae Jong Hyeop and Rowoon were previously in talks for the lead role; however, both declined the offer, paving the way for Park Jinyoung’s potential casting.
