BTS’s Jimin makes history once again.
On Mar 4, Billboard revealed that BTS’s Jimin’s solo song ‘Who’ is now tied with Psy’s ‘Gangnam Style’ as the longest-running K-Pop soloist song on Billboard Hot 100.
The song ‘Who’ from Jimin’s record-breaking album ‘Muse’ now holds its place at No.33, marking its 31st week on the chart, the same milestone reached by Psy’s ‘Gangnam Style’ in 2012. Interestingly, only one song, including groups and solos, has surpassed this record, which is BTS’ ‘Dynamite’ (Jimin’s group).
Along with this, ‘Who’ also made gains across other Billboard Charts. It climbed to No. 22 on the Billboard Streaming Songs chart and moved up to No. 24 on both the Global 200 and the Global Excl. U.S. chart.
Additionally, the album ‘Muse’ remained at No.1 on the World Albums chart, marking its sixth non-consecutive week and making history as the longest-running album by a Korean or Asian Solo artist, further cementing Jimin’s status as one of K-pop’s leading solo artists.
In addition to these impressive chart feats, Jimin marked his 39th week on the Billboard Artist 100 chart, currently sitting at No. 81. This achievement extends his record as the K-pop soloist with the most weeks on the chart.
Jimin’s accomplishments reflect the worldwide reach and impact of K-pop which will undoubtedly inspire artists from all over the world. This historic achievement of Jimin has solidified his place in K-Pop history making him poised for even greater success in the future.
Congratulations to Jimin on this historic achievement.
