On June 15, Jellyfish Entertainment confirmed that their contract has ended with the Idol turned actress Kang Mina and released the statement, “Our exclusive contract with Kang Mina will come to an end by the end of June. After discussions, both sides have agreed to not renew the contract.”
In related news, it has been reported that Kang Mina is in talks to join Story J agency which is also home to actors like Seo In Guk (who worked on K-drama ‘Café Minamdang’ alongside Kang Mina), Kim Tae Hee, and Oh Yeon Seo. Soon after the report was made, Story J agency issued the following response, “It is true that we had a meeting with Kang Mina. We are positively discussing the matter of an exclusive contract. However, nothing has been confirmed yet.”
Kang Mina rose to fame after debuting in Mnet’s reality program ‘Produce 101‘ I.O.I after ranking 9th on the show. That same year, she debuted in the girl group ‘Gugudan.’ The artist has also acted in several K-dramas namely ‘Hotel Del Luna,’ ‘Café Minamdang,’ ‘Moonshine,’ and ‘My Roommate is a Gumiho.’
