On June 1, Hyuk announced his departure from his agency Jellyfish Entertainment. He will be the fourth member of VIXX to leave the agency.
He debuted in a boy group VIXX on May 24, 2012. The group celebrated their 10th anniversary earlier in May. Hyuk also made a debut in acting and pursued songwriting and composing.
Hyuk announced his departure by posting a handwritten letter through his official social media. In his message, he expressed his worries for his fans for his sudden departure news announcement. Although, he has decided to step in a new environment and take up a new challenge, he assured his fans that he will continue to grow. Hyuk also expressed, how he was happy to have shared the stage with them and said that it was the happiest moment of his life.
In his message, he also wrote a sincere gratitude to Jellyfish Entertainment family for allowing him to meet VIXX and Starlight and helping him to grow up as a person, he is today. He then clarified to his fans that he will still continue to be a part of VIXX.
