7 Reasons Why We Love Jackson Wang

Jackson Wang is a K-POP idol and member of K-POP Group, GOT7. Born and raised in Hong Kong, he moved to Seoul in 2011 to pursue his dream to become an idol. Here are a few reasons why we love him.

 

1. A Man of Dreams and Dedication

Jackson’s father is a former member of China’s national fencing team and an Asian Games medalist. Following in his father’s footsteps, Jackson started fencing at age 10. He won many awards and even turned down a scholarship for Stanford University to pursue his dream of being a K-POP star. At 23, he started his own fashion brand ‘Team Wang.’

 

 

2. Serving Love and Respect

It is said that children can tell good people from bad. It is true in Jackson’s case, as he is loved by children and elders alike. He has appeared on various Chinese variety shows and shown his soft side. Be it rushing in his sleep to tend to a crying baby or cleaning a grandma’s feet, his treatment is kind, caring, and respectful. 

 

3. Act Honest, Answer Boldly

Jackson doesn’t know what filtering is. Whether it is about his dating ban or men appearing together on ‘We Got Married’, he speaks his heart. Jackson isn’t even afraid to show his bare face.

If you are even slightly into K-POP, you would know this iconic scene. 

 

He cannot even hide his reactions and often gives his fans meme-worthy content. 

 

4. Manners Make Jackson!

We knew this collaboration was one of the best when it blew our feed. 

 

 

Although not a first, it was still refreshing to see K-POP Idols from opposite genders collaborate and it had more than one reason to go viral. Fans were quick to notice Jackson’s “Manner Hands” as the idol refrained from touching Jessie in any way that may be seen as inappropriate. Not only this, he even closed his eyes to avoid looking at her torso. This won him a lot of praise that didn’t go unnoticed by Jessie as well.

 

 

This isn’t the first time he has been a “Gentleman” towards the females in the K-POP industry. Not only is he protective towards idols, but also reprimanded a man for pushing a fangirl while walking with his staff. Jackson once jumped from the stage to personally check up on a fan after accidentally hitting her with a ball. 

 

5. India = Love

Whether at press conferences, interviews, or live sessions, Jackson never fails to mention how much he loves India. He has said that it is one of his favorite places and would love to visit if an opportunity comes. You can see his genuine love on his face when someone mentions India. He has danced to Punjabi songs, watches Bollywood films, and loves Indian food. We have hardly seen any K-POP Idol talk as much about India as he does.

6. Friends are Family

Jackson doesn’t shy away from showing his PDA with GOT7 members and even acknowledges their solo achievements. In an interview with Soompi, he has mentioned that he has many friends in the industry and the list would not end in a day. Amber from f(x) is one of his closest, whom he had supported with a cameo in ‘Shake That Brass’. In the same interview, he said that Super Junior’s Henry is also a close friend. Elsewhere, he has also mentioned that RM from BTS is one of his closest friends. On Zach Sang Show, he couldn’t stop appreciating how special RM is and mentioned that “RM is like the conclusion to me- when I run into problems he sums up everything and gives me a conclusion”. In the past, he even sulked that RM doesn’t pick up his phone. [Talk about the friendship love!]

 

7. He Loves His Fans in 100 ways!

Every idol loves their fans but Jackson takes it up a notch. Replying to his fans, he never fails to express how much he loves them. To celebrate his song 100 ways breaking into Mediabase’s Top 30 US Pop Chart, Jackson dedicated a special video (100 Ways to love Jackson Wang) to thank his fans. Jackson always pushes himself to work harder for his fans, and once collapsed in a fan meet making his fans sad seeing how he worked himself so hard.
