X:IN Drops a Performance for a B-Side Track from Their Latest Album
On May 10, K-pop girl group X:IN dropped a performance video for ‘수리수리마하수리 수수리 사바하 (SABAHA)’, much to fans’ surprise. A B-side track from their latest mini-album, ‘Defend Myself’, the song is a base house track with occultish lyrics that treat love like a spell. The title, taken from a traditional incantation, mirrors the theme of being completely swept away by love.
The video is filmed in a run-down concrete building, with sharp choreography that complements the intensity of the song. The contrast between dark and light visuals enhances the theme of love’s enchantment. The video, which begins with fierce choreography, ends with the members letting out eerie laughs one after another before putting on serious expressions, reminiscent of someone under a spell, perfectly matching the song’s concept.
What makes the performance video even more special is that member Hannah served as the choreographer.
Released on May 17, ‘Defend Myself’, led by the title track ‘Attention seeker’, marks the group’s first release under their new agency, BeBy Entertainment.
