‘GALA’ is a high-energy runway anthem that fuses futuristic synths, hard-hitting rap, bilingual flows, and driving house beats into a cinematic, performance-driven showcase called ‘X GALA.’ The track defines XG’s self-created genre, X-POP — a world where music, power, and glamour collide in one unforgettable moment, boldly breaking fashion conventions. The cover art further captures the track’s dazzling visual universe, building anticipation for its arrival.
During a surprise announcement at a-nation 2025 last weekend, one of Japan’s largest summer festivals, XG revealed that their first full-length album is slated for release next year.
Effortlessly crossing genres, the album intends to take listeners on a journey across shifting times and spaces, all anchored by XG’s unmistakable energy and bold spirit. Built on the belief that good music stands on its own, the album will capture the most honest reflection of XG yet — while setting the stage for limitless possibilities to come.
Currently, XG is hosting the ‘XG 1st WORLD TOUR <The first HOWL> EXHIBITION’ at Laforet Museum Harajuku in Tokyo (September 1–7), featuring curated live photos, stage outfits, immersive video content, and exclusive merchandise. In October, XG will take the stage abroad for the CHINA FESTIVAL TOUR, performing at MDSK Music Festival (Beijing, 2 Oct), Strawberry Music Festival (Guangzhou, 4 Oct), and Luzhou Galaxy Left Bank Music Festival (Luzhou, 7 Oct).
XG is a seven-member hip-hop/R&B girl group consisting of JURIN, CHISA, HINATA, HARVEY, JURIA, MAYA, and COCONA. The group’s name, ‘XG,’ stands for ‘Xtraordinary Girls,’ reflecting their commitment to empowering people from diverse backgrounds around the world through their boundary-defying music and performances.
They debuted in March 2022 with their 1st single, ‘Tippy Toes,’ and quickly made history by becoming the first Japanese artists to rank No. 1 on the Billboard ‘Hot Trending Songs Powered by Twitter’ chart. XG also became the first Japanese girl group to grace the cover of the U.S. Billboard magazine, achieving remarkable milestones on a global scale.
In 2024, they embarked on their first world tour, XG 1st WORLD TOUR ‘The first HOWL,’ spanning approximately 30 cities worldwide. In November 2024, they released their 2nd mini-album, ‘AWE,’ which marked their debut on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
In April 2025, XG became the only Japanese artist to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, one of the largest music festivals in the United States.
‘GALA’ will be released on September 19, with the full album scheduled for release on January 23, 2026.
