He enlisted at the Nonsan Army Training Center in Chungnam on January 22, 2024, completing five weeks of basic military training before being assigned to the military band. Throughout his service, he was praised for his dedication and discipline.
At his discharge ceremony, WOODZ greeted fans with a brief but heartfelt message, saying, “Thank you so much for waiting for me,” reflecting the deep appreciation he holds for his fandom, who have eagerly awaited his return.
In October 2024, WOODZ appeared as Private First Class Cho Seung-youn on KBS2’s ‘Immortal Songs’, performing his self-composed track ‘Drowning’. The performance gained attention, with the song topping Melon and Genie in May 2025 and winning SBS ‘Inkigayo’ for two straight weeks, marking a rare feat during enlistment.
Following his discharge, WOODZ launched his official fan community on the global platform Berriz and is set to host a special live broadcast at 8 PM KST (4:30 PM IST) today to celebrate his return.
Meanwhile, he’s already gearing up for stage performances. WOODZ is scheduled to perform at the ‘2025 SBS Gayo Daejeon Summer’ event on July 27. In August, he’ll appear at Japan’s largest music festival, ‘SUMMER SONIC 2025’.
