Song Kang Ho has officially stepped away from the upcoming series adaptation of ‘Inside Men’ due to scheduling conflicts.

On July 11, MyDaily reported that while filming was initially scheduled to begin soon, the production team decided to postpone the schedule. The cast was informed of a two- to three-month adjustment period as the timeline was pushed back.

As a result of these delays and overlapping commitments with other projects, Song Kang Ho ultimately had to withdraw from the drama. The production team confirmed the news, stating, “Due to the scheduling changes for ‘Inside Men’, filming has been delayed, and Song Kang Ho had no choice but to leave because of his commitments to the other projects.”

The shift in timeline also stems from a creative decision made by the production team. Initially, Seasons 1 and 2 of the drama were planned to be filmed separately. However, the team has now opted to film both seasons consecutively in a 12-episode format. Confirming the update, Hive Media Corp stated, “We initially planned to film Seasons 1 and 2 separately, but decided to shoot all 12 episodes at once. We are taking time to revise the scripts accordingly,” adding, “Filming is expected to resume within this year.”

The high-profile remake, first announced in September of last year, is based on the 2015 film ‘Inside Men’ — Korea’s highest-grossing R-rated movie to date. Song Kang Ho was originally cast to play Lee Kang Hee, a character portrayed by Bae Yoon Shik in the original film. His involvement had generated significant buzz and anticipation around the drama.

Even after Song Kang Ho’s departure, the project remains one of the most anticipated upcoming dramas, thanks to its star-studded cast, which reportedly includes Koo Kyo Hwan, Lee Moo Saeng, Soo Ae, Kim Ji Yeon (WJSN’s Bona), Lee Sung Min, Shin Seung Ho, and Kim Ye Rim (Red Velvet’s Yeri).

Set against a backdrop of political intrigue and ruthless ambition, ‘Inside Men’ is still shaping up to be a must-watch drama.

Stay tuned as this bold remake charts a new course, promising to return stronger and more captivating than ever.
