K-Pop powerhouse SM Entertainment is shaking things up with the announcement of ‘2024 SM NEW GIRL GROUP AUDITION (SMNGG),’ marking the company’s first-ever global search for a girl group.
The ‘2024 SM NEW GIRL GROUP AUDITION’ offers a chance to join this prestigious lineage. Online registration for the audition commenced on June 1 and will remain open until June 22, providing aspiring female-identified applicants born between 2005 and 2011 from any corner of the globe the chance to showcase their skills.

The audition process entails a multi-stage selection process, beginning with the submission of a self-introduction, along with vocal and dance videos. Applicants will have the opportunity to choose from designated songs for both the vocal and dance segments of their audition. Those who successfully advance past the initial round will be invited to in-person auditions for the second round, with selected applicants receiving individual notifications regarding the specific date and location. The Finalists will have an opportunity to make their debut as a member of SM’s highly-anticipated new girl group.
