On March 12, a music industry source revealed that Vernon and The8 are forming a new unit and are preparing to release a new album in June. The two artists are currently working together on a project while also actively participating in the production process.
In response, a source from the agency PLEDIS Entertainment shared, “Vernon and The8 are currently preparing a unit album, with the goal of releasing it in June.”
The upcoming collaboration will become SEVENTEEN’s sixth official unit project, following earlier units such as BSS (DK, HOSHI and SEUNGKWAN), JEONGHAN and Wonwoo, HOSHI X WOOZI, S.COUPS and MINGYU (C X M), and DK and SEUNGKWAN (D X S).
Vernon, one of the group’s rappers, has been contributing in writing and composing music since SEVENTEEN’s debut and joined the Recording Academy as a voting member last year. The8, known for his strong dance and performances, has also released solo music in China, including EP ‘THE 8 ‘STARDUST’ 1st EP CHINA.’
Meanwhile, SEVENTEEN is currently on its ‘NEW_’ world tour and is set to hold an encore concert on April 4 and 5 at Incheon Asiad Main Stadium.
