Approximately 200 works from RM’s private collection will be presented alongside pieces from SFMOMA’s holdings, creating a dialogue between modern and contemporary Korean art and the broader landscape of global art history. The lineup includes renowned artists such as Kim Whanki, Yun Hyong-keun, Mark Rothko, and Yves Klein, among others. Notably, RM personally participated as a curator, shaping the exhibition through his own artistic perspective and connection to the works.
Sharing his thoughts, RM stated, “It could plant a seed of art, or even self-discovery. I am deeply hopeful to connect with even one person through this exhibition and have the honor of planting those seeds.”
The exhibition is expected to offer visitors a rare opportunity to experience Korean modern and contemporary artworks, including several that have never been exhibited in the United States, alongside internationally significant works.
‘RM X SFMOMA’ will run from October 3, 2026, to February 7, 2027, at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, with member previews scheduled from October 1 to 3.
