Red Velvet’s Wendy is coming back with new music!
On July 24, ASND announced that Wendy is gearing up for a solo comeback in September. The agency stated, “Wendy will make a comeback in September. It has been a while since Wendy’s last solo release, so she is working hard to prepare. We ask for your support and interest.”
The upcoming album marks Wendy’s first solo release in over a year, following her second mini album, ‘Wish You Hell’, which came out in March 2024. Fans are highly anticipating the new album, as it will also be her first music release under her new label ASND, which she joined after her contract with SM Entertainment ended earlier this year.
Her previous album, ‘Wish You Hell’, saw great success, topping the iTunes Top Albums chart in 21 countries and leading digital album sales on China’s QQ Music. With this new release, Wendy is expected to keep the momentum going and further establish herself as a strong solo artist.
Meanwhile, Wendy is holding a special fanmeeting in Hangzhou on August 9.
Wendy debuted as a member of the K-pop girl group Red Velvet in August 2014 with the single ‘Happiness’. Since then, she has delivered numerous hits with the group, such as ‘Ice Cream Cake’, ‘Russian Roulette’, ‘Red Flavor’, ‘Psycho’, ‘Cosmic’, and more. She made her solo debut in 2021 with the EP ‘Like Water’.
