After nearly a decade together, PENTAGON’s Hui has officially parted ways with CUBE Entertainment.
On July 16, CUBE Entertainment announced that PENTAGON member Hui’s exclusive contract with the agency has come to an end.
In a statement, the agency said:
Hello, this is CUBE Entertainment.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the fans who have shown unwavering love and support for HUI of PENTAGON.
We are writing to inform you that, after thorough discussions, our exclusive contract with HUI has officially ended.
Since his debut as the leader and main vocalist of PENTAGON in 2016, HUI has continuously impressed with his outstanding musical talent and passion, constantly presenting new sides of himself. As a producer and solo artist, he has never stopped challenging himself and has built a unique musical identity.
Although our exclusive contract has come to an end, CUBE Entertainment will continue to provide full support during HUI’s recovery from his injury. We are committed to doing our utmost to assist him in regaining his health and making a strong return.
We are deeply grateful for HUI’s dedication and hard work over the years. We kindly ask for your continued love and support as he embarks on this new journey. CUBE Entertainment will continue to support him and sincerely wish him the very best in all his future endeavours.

Following the announcement, Hui shared a heartfelt handwritten letter with fans through Instagram.
Reflecting on his time with the company, he wrote:
Hello, this is Hui.
It’s been a while since I’ve greeted you through a letter like this.Today, I’m writing to share an important message and my sincere thoughts with all of you.
First of all, my exclusive contract with CUBE Entertainment has come to an end. From my trainee days to debut and everything that followed, the company has walked alongside me for a long time, so it holds a very special and deeply grateful place in my heart.
Even at this very moment, as I write this, it still doesn’t feel real. I feel a sense of fear, but I also believe it’s time for me to prepare for a new beginning. With that in mind, I’ve carefully decided to take a new step forward.
To all the staff at CUBE who have genuinely supported me, crying with me, laughing with me, and helping me grow into the artist ‘Hui’, I sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Being able to work with such great people at such a great company has truly been a blessing. I will continue to cheer on CUBE’s growth and all of its artists from afar.And to our precious UNIVERSE, you must have been surprised by the sudden news of my injury, and now I’m bringing news about my contract as well. I worried a lot about causing you even more concern.
Right now, I’m taking time to rest and focus on recovery because I really want to return to the stage as soon as possible, in my best form. Please don’t worry too much.
Also… as time goes by, I think there are changes that naturally come our way. It feels like I’ve reached one of those turning points in my life.
Moments like this make me reflect on just how long we’ve been walking this path together. Just like we’ve done so far, I hope we can continue to build a happy journey together moving forward.
Just thinking about it already fills me with excitement!So, I hope you’ll continue to stay by my side.

Recently, Hui had been active on the JTBC entertainment program ‘The Gentlemen’s League 4’ (also known as ‘Let’s Play Soccer 4’), but he has temporarily halted activities after suffering a fractured nose during filming.
Hui officially debuted with PENTAGON in October 2016 and gained recognition as both a performer and producer, contributing to several of the group’s hits as well as songs for other artists.
We wish Hui all the best in his recovery and future endeavors.
