Park Min Young is set to lead a new Amazon Prime drama!
On May 26 KST, Amazon Prime Video officially announced that Park Min Young had been cast as the lead in ‘The Confidence Man KR’ (working title), the OTT platform’s first-ever Korean original drama. The upcoming series is a remake of the hit Japanese drama ‘The Confidence Man JP’. It follows three elite con artists who use their extraordinary skills to outwit powerful wrongdoers across various sectors.
Park Min Young will play Yoon Yi Rang, the cunning, charismatic leader of the group, known for her razor-sharp intellect and masterful schemes. This role promises to showcase her impressive range as an actress, blending sharp wit, drama, and humor in a high-stakes world of deception. Known for her standout performances in dramas such as ‘What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim’, ‘Her Private Life’, and ‘Forecasting Love and Weather’, Park Min Young is expected to bring depth and charm to her new character.
A representative from HIGROUND, the production company behind the drama, stated, “Having Park Min Young star in an Amazon original drama is not only a major achievement for the actress herself but also sets a new milestone in the history of K-content. It is a recognition of Park Min Young’s value as a global actress who transcends Korea to reach audiences worldwide. Filming for the drama, which began in September 2024, has recently concluded. The 12-episode series is now in post-production and gearing up to premiere in the latter half of 2025.
With its intriguing storyline, global backing from Amazon, and a beloved lead actress, ‘The Confidence Man KR’ is set to be one of the most anticipated dramas of the year.
