Park Jin Young is stepping down from his role as an inside director at JYP Entertainment, signaling a significant shift in the leadership structure of one of K-pop’s most influential agencies.
On March 10, JYP Entertainment officially announced that its founder and renowned producer-performer, Park Jin Young, will no longer continue in his board position. The agency stated, “Park Jin Young will resign from his inside director post. At the shareholders’ meeting which will be held on March 26, he will not proceed with the process to be reappointed as an inside director.”
The decision will be finalized at the upcoming shareholders’ meeting, confirming that he will not seek another term as an inside director.
Following his resignation, Park Jin Young plans to focus on his creative pursuits and broader contributions to the industry. He will continue his activities as an artist, mentor young talents within the company, and explore new external initiatives that support the continued growth of the global K-pop industry.
