‘World of Street Woman Fighter’ Leader Showdown & K-pop Mission: Episode 3 Review

Episodes 5 and 6 of ‘Oh My Ghost Clients’ take a more emotional and grounded turn, shedding light on the hardships faced by the working class.

Moving away from the earlier episodes’ focus on a vengeful spirit haunted by workplace harassment and burnout, the narrative centres on the silent suffering of laborers. These individuals endure mistreatment and extreme fatigue in silence, not because they lack pain, but because their voices are often ignored due to their social standing.

A Take on Episodes 5 and 6

Episode 5

The episode starts where Mu-jin narrowly escapes being hit by a bus and is transported to the in-between realm by Bong-sal, the deity. Surprisingly, Bong-sal doesn’t blame the sleepy bus driver, but instead the broken system that pushes workers to the edge without any rest or support.

Back in the real world, Mu-jin encounters a new spirit, Yeong-suk, a kind woman who was once a janitor and a colleague and close friend of his mother. Even though his mother cannot see her, their dog can, signaling her ghostly presence.

Mu-jin learns the heartbreaking truth about Yeong-suk’s death due to stress while preparing for a ridiculous and humiliating exam that the university forced all janitors to take. The test, filled with nonsensical and irrelevant questions, was designed to weed out the staff. Failing it three times meant public humiliation and termination.

Even though Yeong-suk loved her job, the pressure of the exam led to fatal chest pains, causing her death. Outraged by this injustice, Mu-jin encourages the janitors to protest. They initially hesitate, but after a passionate and heartfelt speech from Mu-jin, they agree to fight, not just for Yeong-suk, but for themselves.

The protest starts peacefully but quickly escalates when the university calls in the police, and as Mu-jin ends up arrested, chaos erupts.

In an unexpected moment of support, Mu-jin’s estranged wife comes to bail him out of jail after an emotional argument with her sister, Hee-joo, that seems to have shifted her perspective. Though she’s not ready to admit it yet, she’s beginning to see and appreciate the man Mu-jin is becoming.

At the university campus, Mu-jin and his team help the janitors form a union, demanding the abolishment of the unfair exam and the reinstatement of a wrongfully terminated colleague. When the university officials refuse, the janitors go on strike.

Things take a hit when the student union sides with the university and blames the janitors for inconveniencing campus life, leaving them disheartened. But Mu-jin doesn’t give up. With Yeong-suk’s help, he shares an emotional and heartfelt message detailing their struggles and plight.

At first, it’s met with indifference and mockery, until three students show up voicing their support, reigniting hope.

Afterward, Mu-jin and his team secretly record the next test using Gyeong-woo’s spy glasses, with help from Mu-jin’s mother. The footage immediately goes viral, shocking the public with its absurdity and sparking outrage among students and alumni.

The university president, previously unaware of the policy, steps in and confronts the situation. The chairman who enforced the tests is fired on live TV. The exams are scrapped, and the fired janitor is reinstated.

In the end, Yeong-suk’s soul finally finds peace.

But just as things seem to settle, a chilling twist emerges: Mu-jin gets a call from Hee-joo to come to the hospital and unexpectedly runs into a familiar face, the ghost of a young boy he had always met and talked with at the local convenience store. The boy, now a spirit, leaves both of them stunned.

Final Thoughts

These episodes, rather than focusing solely on Yeong-suk’s death, emphasize the pain of being unseen and unheard. Her tragic end was not the result of personal failure, but a reflection of a system that routinely and deliberately neglects its most vulnerable workers. The episodes profoundly shed light on the difficulty of challenging a system built to thrive on silence. The real mystery is not the ghost, but the cruel, normalised injustice behind her story.

Now, with the episode ending on a cliffhanger where Mu-jin faces the ghost of someone he knew personally, the story hits a more intimate and distressing note. But the real question is, how did this boy die? Why were Mu-jin’s friends at the hospital? And is there still time for Mu-jin to help, or is it already too late?

As the next chapter looms, the line between unresolved grief and personal stakes continues to blur.

Don’t miss what happens next; stay tuned.
