Soloist and the leader of ‘The Rose,’ Woosung has released his new single music video titled ‘Dimples’ on September 23.
The single is an 80s inspired track filled with retro-ish dreamy vibes and beats. The MV begins with Woosung entering a taxi seemingly drunk. He seems to have forgotten a fishbowl behind and just when he was about to doze off, a mysterious white coloured magical fish appears before him followed by a crash. The artist then describes a girl’s dimples and how her smile reminds him of them.
Woosung then compares her dimples to wells and how it made her special, while at the same time mentioning him falling into them. Moving forward the chorus drops with the artist mentioning how his love and attraction has turned fatal for him.
In the next scene, the artist finds himself in a club puzzled, confused and yet searching for the girl. Woosung metaphorically compares her lips to a trap and the only getaway which gets closed with a grin. Just when he seemed on the verge of losing, the girl appears, dressed in a white dress and drenched in moonlight flashing her smile and captivating the artist with her dimples who gets swayed, shaken and ultimately falls into the same trap.
The next part mentions the struggle of the artist trying to escape from the fatal trap of attraction but alas there seems to be no escape now.
‘Dimples’ touches upon the topic of love and attraction in a way that harms a human being. Woosung has also mentioned how the music would allow the listener to escape their reality and into a different world which it definitely does.
Woosung, a Korean-American singer, known for being a vocalist and electric guitarist of ‘The Rose,’ has recently started his own independent label, Woolfpack. ‘Dimples’ marks the fourth digital single by the artist who made his solo debut on July 25th, 2019 with a mini-album ‘Wolf’.
