MONSTA X’s I.M officially concludes his contract with Sony Music Entertainment Korea.
On September 15, Sony Music Entertainment Korea announced that I.M has officially parted ways with the label, following the end of his exclusive contract.
In the official statement, Sony Music Korea shared:
“Hello, this is Sony Music Korea.
We would like to inform you that after thorough discussions, Sony Music Korea and our artist I.M have mutually agreed to go our separate ways.
Since signing with us in 2022, I.M has spent the past three years building a stronger and more distinctive musical identity together with our company.
We sincerely thank I.M for sharing his music and sincerity with us, and we will continue to support him with affection and respect.”

Following the announcement, I.M’s managing team, Team IM also shared an official statement,
“Hello, this is Team I.M.
We sincerely thank all the fans who have always shown I.M unwavering love.
With the conclusion of his exclusive contract with the agency, all existing social media accounts will be transferred to I.M and will continue to be operated by him.
We kindly ask for your continued interest and support for I.M’s shining journey ahead.”

I.M is the youngest member of MONSTA X under Starship Entertainment. He made his solo debut with EP ‘Duality’ in 2021. He left Starship Entertainment in 2022 and signed up with Sony Music Entertainment Korea and established himself as a solo artist by releasing mini albums, ’OVERDRIVE’ and ‘Off The Beat’ and digital singles like, ‘Slowly’, and ‘Don’t Speak’. He also completed his solo world tour ‘Off The Beat’ in 18 cities across 10 countries.
Despite pursuing a solo career, I.M has remained active with MONSTA X by joining the group for their 10th anniversary concerts in Korea and Japan, and participated in promotions for their latest mini album ‘THE X’.
Ahead of I.M’s activities, fans are eagerly looking forward to his next step in his solo career.
