Meet The Groups Battling For The Ultimate Showdown In ‘Road to Kingdom: ACE OF ACE’

After the much-deserved success of Mnet’s ‘Road to Kingdom’ season one, the fans are in for a treat. Another season of the show is scheduled to return this September four years after the first season in 2020. The show brings together some of the most talented and promising K-Pop boy groups to face a series of dynamic challenges to showcase their talent, performance abilities, and stage presence. Season 1 of ‘Road to Kingdom’ featured seven boy groups – Pentagon, ONF, Golden Child, THE BOYZ, VERIVERY, ONEUS, and TO1 competing with each other in a comeback battle. K-Pop group ‘THE BOYZ’ was the winner of the first season. Furthermore, the winner of the show also won confirmed participation in the sequel show ‘Kingdom: Legendary War.’

However, this season of the ‘Road to Kingdom’ will function as an independent brand, and not as a prequel to ‘Kingdom.’ This is why the second season has been rebranded as ‘Road to Kingdom: ACE OF ACE.’ With every episode, the stakes will get higher and competition fierce, ultimately leading up to the finale where one group will be crowned as the ‘ACE OF ACE.’ The groups participating in season 2 are ONEUS, THE NEW SIX, 8TURN, YOUNITE, CRAVITY, TEMPEST, and The CrewOne. Additionally, this show will also mark the solo debut of SHINee’s Taemin as MC. The show premiers on 19th September at 9:30 P.M. KST (6 P.M. IST). Read on to know more about these groups.

1. ONEUS

ONEUS is a five-member group under RBW (Rainbow Bridge World) music label and entertainment agency. The group originally debuted as a six-member group in 2019 with their first mini album ‘Light Us’. They went on to release many famous songs like ‘LIT’, ‘Valkyrie’, ‘Black Mirror’, ‘Twilight’, ‘BingBing’, ‘Baila Conmigo’, and ‘Dead or Alive’ among others. Their latest digital single ‘Now’ was released in May 2024. Interestingly, they were also a contestant on the first season of the show in 2020.

2. THE NEW SIX

The New Six, commonly known as TNX, is a six-member boy group under P Nation who made their debut in 2022 with their mini album ‘Way Up’. The members of the group were selected from the reality show ‘Loud’ in 2021. Their latest digital single ‘FUEGO’ was released in March 2024. This is their first digital single and they have released three mini-albums to date.

3. 8TURN

As the name suggests, 8TURN is an eight-member boy group. The group made its debut in 2023 under the management of MNH Entertainment. Their first mini album ‘8TURNRISE’ was released in January 2023. Their latest mini album ‘STUNNING’ was released in January this year.

4. YOUNITE

YOUNITE debuted as a nine-member group in 2022 under Brand New Music with the EP ‘Youni-Birth.’ As of July this year, the group is an eight-member boy group. Their latest EP ‘Another’ was released in July this year. Some of their hit songs are ‘1 of 9’, ‘Bad Cupid’, ‘Everybody’, ‘Poco Loco’, ‘OMH (Out My Head)’, ‘Chili Pop’ and ‘How We Do’.

5. CRAVITY

CRAVITY is a nine-member boy group managed by Starship Entertainment. Their first mini album ‘Hideout: Remember Who We Are- Season 1’ was released in April 2020. Their seventh and latest mini album ‘EVERSHINE’ was released in February 2024. Some of the most popular songs by the group are ‘Break All the Rules’, ‘ Ready or Not’, ‘Love or Die’, ‘Adrenaline’, ‘Boogie Woogie’, ‘C’est La Vie’, and ‘Cloud 9’ among others.

6. TEMPEST

TEMPEST is a six-member group that made its debut (as a seven-member group) in March 2022 under Yue Hua Entertainment with the mini album ‘It’s Me, It’s We’. Their latest mini album ‘TEMPEST Voyage’ was released in March this year. ‘Can’t Stop Shining’, ‘Bad News’, ‘Vroom Vroom’ and ‘Lighthouse’ are some of the group’s popular songs.

7. The CrewOne

The CrewOne is a recently formed project group under IST Entertainment and Bluedot Entertainment consisting of all the members of JUST B and ATBO. ATBO is a six-member boy group which debuted in 2022. JUST B is also a six-member boy group that made its debut in 2021 under Bluedot Entertainment. One of the members of the group is on hiatus and won’t be participating in the group activities. The CrewOne has not yet made their official debut and it is exciting to see what they would bring out together in the show.

With the competition so fierce and talented, it will be an interesting ride to witness which group rises to the challenges and wins the ultimate title of ‘ACE OF ACE.’
