On January 8, MBC announced its drama lineup for 2025, officially confirming Lee Bo Young and Lee Min Ki as the leads for the Korean adaptation of the Canadian series ‘Mary Kills People’ (working title).
The drama follows the story of a doctor who secretly assists terminally ill patients in ending their suffering through euthanasia. Meanwhile, a detective is determined to expose her hidden activities, creating a tense and gripping narrative. The Korean version will be directed by PD Park Joon Woo, known for hit dramas like ‘Taxi Driver’ and ‘Crash’.
Lee Bo Young, acclaimed for her performances in ‘Agency,’ ‘When My Love Blooms,’ and ‘Hide’ will portray Woo So Jung, a skilled emergency doctor who saves lives by day but secretly provides euthanasia to terminally ill patients by night.
Lee Min Ki will play Jo Hyun Woo, a terminally ill man with a brain tumor. His charming character, hiding a mysterious secret, transforms after meeting Woo So Jung.
