MAMAMOO’s Moonbyul embarks on a new journey with her Japanese single release!
MAMAMOO’s Moonbyul has officially begun a new chapter in her music career with the release of her Japanese debut single, ‘Aurora.’ Released on February 5th at midnight KST, ‘Aurora’ marks Moonbyul’s first Japanese release in her career of eleven years. Similar to the alluring hues of aurora, which served as the inspiration for the title, Moonbyul’s wide range of artistic colors is captured in this release.

The title track, ‘Hoshiakari’ (ほしあかり) means ‘starlight’ and features soulful lyrics that compare love and eternity to light. Moonbyul has played an active role in the songwriting process, adding her creative input and personal touch to the composition. The fusion of emotional band sounds and Moonbyul’s tender yet powerful vocals adds even more depth to the track’s brilliance.
The music video, released alongside the single, portrays the narrative of the moon and stars lighting up the night sky in harmony. The stunning cinematography of the music video and Moonbyul’s captivating performance with a live band has mesmerized the fans.
The Japanese debut single features a total of three tracks including the rock ballad ‘Because of You’ and the Japanese version of the track ‘Is This Love?’. With ‘Aurora,’ Moonbyul solidifies her position as a talented artist, pushing boundaries and exploring new musical landscapes.
