Prime Video is set to launch a new Korean romantic-comedy drama series titled ‘Nice To Not Meet You,’ led by Lee Jung Jae and Lim Ji Yeon.
Lee Jung Jae, internationally acclaimed for his Emmy-winning performance in Netflix’s intense survival thriller ‘Squid Game,’ stars alongside Lim Ji Yeon, who is known for her powerful and memorable roles in dramas such as ‘The Glory’ and ‘The Tale of Lady Ok.’
In the series, Lee Jung Jae will play Lim Hyeon Jun, a typecast actor who is stuck playing the role of a beloved lead in a hit detective series. He desperately wishes to break free from this mold and transform his image by taking on a more emotionally complex role.
Lim Ji Yeon stars as Wi Jeong Sin, a decorated investigative political journalist who is unexpectedly demoted to the entertainment desk while reporting on a major corruption case. While navigating the entertainment world, she crosses paths with Hyeon Jun and is disappointed by how different he is in real life from the charismatic detective she admired on screen. Their clashing personalities set the stage for a story filled with charm, humor, and surprising chemistry.
The series will be helmed by Kim Ga Ram, known for her work on popular dramas like ‘Good Partner’ and ‘Nevertheless.’ The script is penned by Jung Yeo Rang, who previously wrote the hit series ‘Doctor Cha.’
‘Nice to Not Meet You’ is set for a global release across more than 240 countries and territories, with the premiere date yet to be announced.
