The Plot
The drama follows the unexpected romance between South Korean heiress and businesswoman Yoon Se Ri (Son Ye Jin) and Ri Jeong Hyeok (Hyun Bin), a dedicated North Korean soldier. Se Ri, while paragliding, accidentally lands in the North Korean section of the Demilitarized Zone. There, she encounters Captain Ri Jeong Hyeok of the North Korean army, who discovers her and, despite the risks, decides to help her stay hidden and find a way back home. As Se Ri struggles to adjust to life in North Korea, she grows close to Jeong Hyeok, his soldiers, and the local villagers. Over time, she and Jeong Hyeok fall in love, despite their contrasting backgrounds and the challenges of their forbidden romance.
Their journey revolves around finding a safe way for Se Ri to return to South Korea while keeping their love a secret. Meanwhile, Se Ri’s ambitious half-brothers, eager to claim their father’s inheritance, add further complications, making the situation even more difficult.

As they work to get her back to South Korea, their bond deepens, and Jeong Hyeok realizes they had met before in Switzerland.

Seo Dan, a North Korean department store heiress and aspiring cellist, is Jeong Hyeok’s fiancée through an arranged marriage. While she has long loved him, he sees their relationship as a duty.
