With a background as a military surgeon seasoned in global combat zones, Kang-hyuk arrives with unparalleled expertise, unshakable composure, and a blunt, fearless approach to medicine. His exceptional skill becomes evident when he takes charge in the ER to save a critically injured patient, swiftly overshadowing Yang Jae-won (played by Choo Young-woo), a colorectal surgery fellow faltering under pressure. Proving himself a formidable leader, Kang-hyuk soon appoints Jae-won as his first attending and begins building a formidable trauma team, including Cheon Jang-mi (played by Ha Young), the reliable head nurse, and Park Gyeong-won (played by Jeong Jae-kwang), a dedicated fourth-year anesthesiology resident. As the team trains under his demanding guidance, they evolve into a cohesive, high-performing unit on the path to becoming the nation’s leading trauma center.
