JUNHEE releases his first solo mini-album!
On September 12 at noon KST, JUNHEE greeted fans worldwide with the release of his first solo mini-album, ‘The First Day & Night’, across all major music streaming platforms. The celebration began two hours earlier, at 10 AM KST (6:30 AM IST), with the premiere of the ‘Umbrella (10:00)’ music video.
‘The First Day & Night’ marks JUNHEE’s official debut as a solo artist, featuring songs he had long hoped to share. Introduced under his own name, the album represents a personal and artistic milestone, establishing his distinct presence and voice.
The album opens with ‘Umbrella (10:00)’ and flows through ‘Tattoo (12:30)’ featuring Lee Ji Ham, WoW, BK, and KANG YUCHAN, followed by ‘Too Bad (15:00)’, ‘Sugar (18:00)’, ‘You Should Come (21:00)’, ‘Supernova (00:00)’ (pre-released), and ‘Night (02:00)’. It closes with ‘호랑이 장가 가는 날 (10:00)’, the Korean version of ‘Umbrella’. Each track is timed to reflect a different part of the day, guiding listeners through a musical journey from morning to night.
The title track ‘Umbrella (10:00)’ is a medium-tempo pop number that captures the heartache of waiting for a lover who only appears when it’s convenient. The visuals of ‘the rain, an umbrella, and myself left standing between them’ evoke the longing and emotional distance of something unattainable.
A month prior to the release of ‘The First Day & Night’, JUNHEE pre-released ‘Supernova (00:00)’ and performed it on various music programs. The track quickly gained traction, reaching No. 1 on iTunes charts in seven countries and earning widespread recognition across global music rankings.
On September 11, JUNHEE gave his first live performance of ‘Umbrella (10:00)’ on the Korean music show ‘M Countdown,’ earning an enthusiastic response from fans in Korea and abroad. Ahead of the release, he also hosted an intimate listening party with around 300 attendees, offering a live preview of the full album in a setting filled with warmth and excitement.
