Leading the brainy brigade is none other than Jun Hyun Moo, the master MC with brains to match. With a double major in English Literature and Sociology from Yonsei University and fluency in four languages, he’s earned the title of “Language Brain”—and he’s not here to play.
Joining him is Netflix’s ‘The Devil’s Plan’ winner Ha Seok Jin, who’s trading strategy games for scholarly ones. With a Mechanical Engineering degree from Hanyang University, he steps in as the “Engineering Brain,” ready to build a solid foundation for the team.
Next up is Lee Sang Yeob, another Hanyang grad who’s putting his Level 1 Korean History Certificate to the test as the show’s “History Brain.” Whether it’s dynasties or detailed timelines, he’s determined to make sure no historical question goes unanswered.
Yoon So Hee, the definition of beauty and brains, joins as the “Prodigy Brain.” A former science high school standout and a Bioengineering student from KAIST, her razor-sharp intellect is sure to impress as she tackles everything from chemistry conundrums to biology brain-teasers.
Hwang Je Seong, the cast’s only comedian, brings unexpected academic flair. With a scholarship-winning background and top math scores on the national college entrance exam, the Sungkyunkwan University alum proudly wears the badge of the “Unexpected Brain.” Don’t let the jokes fool you—he’s here to win.
Rounding out the team is Gwedo, a beloved science YouTuber with 1.29 million subscribers, ready to flex as the “Science Brain.” He’s got facts, formulas, and fun on his side, aiming to break down complex ideas for both his teammates and the audience.
The production team shared that ‘Brain Academy’ will present a fresh kind of quiz show experience—one that viewers of all ages can enjoy. They added that the questions, crafted by Korea’s top scholars, will offer audiences a natural opportunity for deep learning.
From pop culture puzzles to mind-bending science challenges, this isn’t your average test of knowledge. With a cast like this, expect sparks of genius, hilarious teamwork, and maybe even a few head-scratching moments.
Don’t miss the premiere of ‘Brain Academy’—airing on Channel A at the end of May.
