Ji-young Yoo and Eric Nam are confirmed to star in Paramount Pictures’ and HYBE America’s upcoming untitled K-pop film.
On July 23, HYBE America announced that it is teaming up with Paramount to produce a K-pop themed film which will be directed by Benson Lee and written by Eileen Shim. They further stated that it will be the first major Hollywood studio film shot entirely in South Korea and will begin filming in mid-September this year. “This film is my love letter to K-pop- its energy, passion, magic, and the incredible community behind it,” Lee shared in a statement.

Ji-young Yoo will portray a young Korean-American girl who defies her family to compete in an audition TV program to join the next-generation K-pop girl group. Eric Nam, a longtime K-pop figure and rising actor, joins her in a lead role.
Ji-young Yoo recently voiced Zoey in Netflix’s ‘KPop Demon Hunters’, a breakout animated hit featuring songs that have topped Billboard and Spotify charts. Eric Nam rose to fame through ‘MBC’s Star Audition: Birth of a Great Star 2,’ hosted ‘After School Club,’ and is also set to appear as a contestant in Season 4 of ‘The Traitors’ on Peacock.
The film is produced by James Shin (President of Film/TV Division at HYBE America), Arthur Spector, Joshua Davis and Scooter Braun of Epic Magazine, with executive producers Joshuah Bearman, John Zaozirny, and Scott Manson. Bryan Oh, Senior VP at Paramount Pictures, will oversee the project for the studio.
The film is set for release on February 12, 2027.
