On June 19th, it was confirmed by JTBC that the two actors will be leads in the upcoming K-Drama titled ‘Welcome to Samdalri’ (literal translation).
‘Welcome to Samdalri‘ is about two childhood friends who grew up in the Jeju suburbs together. Ji Chang Wook will play the role of Jo Yong Pil, a weather forecaster who doesn’t hesitate to mince his words to protect his hometown, which gets him into trouble with his boss. Shin Hye Sun will take on the role of Jo Eun Hye, a fashion photographer who always wanted to leave the small town of Samdalri and make it big in Seoul gaining name, fame, and success. But when everything she has worked hard for comes crumbling down, she returns to her hometown where she meets Jo Yong Pil again. The drama will be headed by director Cha Young Hoon who has previously worked on the popular K-Drama ‘When The Camellia Blooms’.
The drama is set to be released in the 2nd half of 2023.
