JEON SOMI is back with a brand-new album!
On August 11 at 6 PM KST (2:30 PM IST), JEON SOMI made her comeback with her second EP ‘Chaotic & Confused’, along with the music video for the title track ‘CLOSER’.
‘CLOSER’ is a stutter house genre reimagination of the classic song ‘Beautiful Girls’, blending a sensual mood with bursts of intensity and rising tension that pull the listener in. With its grand and polished production, the track is a celebration of beauty. The music video perfectly complements the song’s theme with striking and dynamic visuals, switching between SOMI’s raw chaos and goddess-like elegance.
‘Chaotic & Confused’ includes five songs, including the title track ‘CLOSER’. The B-sides are: the previously released ‘EXTRA’, a blend of new disco and R&B; ‘Escapade’, a stylish reinterpretation of post-punk; ‘Chaotic & Confused’, a hybrid pop track with unpredictable transitions; and ‘DELU’, an emotional R&B song. Together, they present a fresh, diverse, and vibrant side of SOMI, telling a story of her artistic self-discovery.
The album heavily emphasizes the theme of self-discovery, chronicling the pressures of being an artist and the internal struggles that come with it, portrayed through the various chaotic situations surrounding SOMI. Symbolic lyrics like “My voice goes hoarse as I battle myself” capture her journey of self-discovery through her internal struggles and the beauty that emerges from them. The album stands as both an honest confession and a reflection of a young, contemporary artist’s creative journey toward artistic evolution.
Notably, JEON SOMI was actively involved in creating the album, contributing to songwriting, composition, the album’s visuals, and performance direction, showcasing her multifaceted artistry.
The album also credits TEDDY, Vince, Dominsuk, Jesse Bluu, Zikai, Johan Carlsson, Elvira Anderfjärd, Shae Jacobs, B.I, and Mudd the student as some of the songwriters and producers who contributed to this project.

About JEON SOMI
Born as Ennik Somi Douma in 2001 in Ontario, Canada, JEON SOMI grew up in Seoul, South Korea. After several commercial ventures, JEON SOMI ultimately became known after winning ‘Produce 101’, a South Korean TV singing competition, and subsequently became part of the project girl group I.O.I. After winning first place on the Korean reality singing competition ‘Produce 101’, the young musician joined THEBLACKLABEL and began her musical partnership with producer TEDDY.
JEON SOMI released her first full-length album ‘XOXO’ with the single ‘Dumb Dumb’, achieving 20M views in just 2 days and breaking into the Billboard 200. Her second single, also titled ‘XOXO’, surpassed 100M views in less than a month and cemented JEON SOMI as one of the top solo female artists of this generation. In summer 2023, she released her brand-new EP entitled ‘GAME PLAN’ along with the music video for ‘Fast Forward,’ which has amassed over 80M views and was the #1 Trending Music Video Worldwide for 3 days.
Currently just 24 years young, JEON SOMI has garnered the attention of major global brands such as Prada, Louis Vuitton, L’Oreal, The North Face & Lacoste while also producing her own line of makeup products called ‘GLYF’.
