IZ*ONE made their Japanese debut with the release of the ‘Suki to Iwasetai‘ music video on 26th January, while the ‘Suki to Iwasetai‘ EP dropped on 6th February and promptly shot to #1 on Oricon’s daily single chart!
The girl group formed from Mnet’s reality show Produce 48 showed their star power with their single entering Oricon’s daily single chart at #1 with 193,469 units sold. This sets a new first day sales record for any K-pop girl group who have debuted in Japan and also beats TWICE’s record of 129,275 units sold. The group have also ranked second-highest in the first-day sales of any girl group debut in Japan, coming second only to HKT48.
IZ*ONE’s agency Off The Record Entertainment confirmed on 9th February that the group will be taking the stage Of popular music show ‘Music Station‘ for the episode which will air on 15th February. Considered one of the most popular music shows in Japan, it has featured some of Japan’s most iconic artists.
IZ*ONE’s debut EP also rose to #1 on Line Music’s Top 100 chart and the iTunes J-pop charts in five countries.
